Season End League Position Changes Season 2020/2021.
Due to this being an unusual year within our club due to Covid 19 the following changes will need to be made to all League's.
All Premier League winners will be presented with the relevant trophy and their name will go on the Honours Board if their league is represented on the Honours Board. ( Some of the League's are not on the Honours Board due to lack of space).
All League winners will receive prize money.
Due to the current crisis, 76 teams have withdrawn from the League's meaning there will be no promotion or relegation for season 2020/2021.
Scottish National Playdowns. From Gordon Woods. SIBA Secretariat. 26th October 2020
Following the decision taken by the SIBA Executive Committee tonight we would advise clubs as follows with regard to National Playdowns -
1. If clubs are planning to finish their 2019/20 season competitions they should still try to complete these events. The winners of these club competitions will play in the Playdowns in the later part of the 2020/21 season.
2. Clubs should consider playing their Playdowns to try and secure their representatives for the 2021/22 season. All being well these Playdown competitions will be played in the first half of the 2021/22 season as normal.
3. Should any of the Playdowns not take place in the 2020/21 season then the winners of Clubs competitions would go forward to the 2021/22 season Nationals. If a club also runs a further set of National Playdowns then they will be given the opportunity to let their two winners into the 2021/22 season National Playdowns.
Hopefully if clubs still try and run competitions internally this season it will encourage some of the more competitive players to return to their club and pay their membership fees and will also allow clubs to generate some much needed Rink Fees income. We do understand this is all a bit confusing and also will be entirely determined on what restrictions clubs face in the coming months but we are trying to find as many ways of keeping players safe while still allowing bowling to take place.
